The Throttle body regulates the quantity of air being allowed to enter the engien, and indirectly, after the fueling. The throttle body is modulated by the accelerator pedal- the further you depress the accelerator, the wider the throttle butterfly is opened, the more air that enters the engine, the more fuel that is burnt and the greater the explosion. Therefore the engine produces more power. More power means more acceleration. The throttle body is located on the intake manifold. .
